I also agree that the Bayesian’s have it right, and here’s why:
Imagine for a moment that you were able to observe ALL non-black things and confirm that none of them were Ravens. That seems like pretty good evidence for All Ravens are Black.
I think our intuition comes from thinking that the set of non-black things is infinite, that it is so varied that it’s hard to get a representative sample, and that if there were non-black Ravens it would be such a small portion of the total non-black things that we would be likely to miss them.
