Short Introduction
Recently a fellow traveler wrote this lovely article outlining some nagging questions about the counter-revolution. After reading it I thought, “what this really needs is a personality quiz.” So here goes. If it gets enough love I might make this into it’s own self scoring website, but for now you have to score it yourself (using scoring guide below the quiz).
The Quiz
Respond to each statement below with a score of 0–4 (where 0 means “no, not at all, 1 means “not really”, 2 means “maybe”, 3 means “yeah, sorta” and 4 means “yes, absolutely”)
Statement 1:
We need more individual expression in society.
Statement 2:
We need more government protection of the rights of individuals.
Statement 3:
People need more commitment to local groups such as faith and family.
Statement 4:
Local communities should be allowed to enforce their own norms, even if it limits individual choice.
Statement 5:
People should make decisions based on rational thinking.
Statement 6:
Religion has done more harm than good in the world.
Statement 7:
It’s important to be guided by principles and beliefs that can’t be proven with logic.
Statement 8:
Society is worse off when people lose faith in a higher power.
Statement 9:
Technological progress improves people’s lives.
Statement 10:
We should have fewer restrictions on economic activity.
Statement 11:
Technological progress causes damage to communities.
Statement 12:
Capitalism does more harm than good.
Scoring
First, add the scores from questions 1 and 2, and then subtract the scores from questions 3 and 4. If the result is positive, you are Liberal. If the result is negative, you are Traditional. If the result is zero, you are neither.
Next, add the scores from questions 5 and 6, and subtract the scores from questions 7 and 8. If the result is positive, you are Rational. If the result is negative, you are Spiritual.
Finally, add the scores from questions 9 and 10, and subtract the scores from 11 and 12. If the result is positive, you are a Wizard. If the result is negative, you are a Prophet.
Your result will be a three word combination like “Liberal Spiritual Wizard” or “Traditional Rational Prophet”. So what kind of counter-revolutionary are you?
